VICTIMS OF FRITZ HAARMANN 'THE BUTCHER OF HANOVER"
Even though Haarmann molested many other boys that he didn't kill, Haarmann was tried for the murder of the following 27 young boys between 1918-1924:
1. Friedel Rothe, on September 25, 1918, Haarmann sexually assaulted and killed Friedel, and he claimed to have buried Rothe in the in Stockmeyer cemetery. Rothe's family knew that their son had befriended "detective" Haarmann. When the police went to search Haarmann's apartment they found him sexually assaulting a young boy. However, the police left finding nothing, and Haarmann later joked that he had decapitated Roth and the head was hidden in newspapers behind the stove.
2. Fritz Franke was another victim of Haarmann and killed by Haarmann on February 12, 1923. Franke was a 17-year old pianist who was originally from Berlin. It is believed that Frank encountered Haarmann in the Hanover Station waiting rooms at the Hanover train station.
3. Wilhelm Schulze was also a victim of The Butcher of Hanover, and he was killed by Haarmann on March 20, 1923. Schultz was an apprentice writer and some of Schulze's clothing was found in the possession of Haarmann's acquaintances.
4. Roland Huch was 16-years old and a runaway, and he was killed by Haarmann on May 23, 1923. He was a student who ran away from home and was last seen at the Hanover station where he had the misfortune of running into Fritz Haarmann.
5. Hans Sonnenfield was a 19-year old runaway from the town of Limmer was believed to have been killed by Haarman on May 31, 1923. Haarmann was charged with his murder, but he denied this killing. Even though Sonnenfield's coat and tie were found in Haarmann's apartment, and this evidence came out at trial, Haarmann was acquitted of Sonnefield's murder.
6. Ernst Ehrenburg was a 13-year victim of Haarmann and he was killed by Haarmann on June 25, 1923. Ehrenburg disappeared while running an errand for his parents. Ehrenburg was the son of Haarman's own neighbor.
7. Heinrich Struss was killed by Haarmann on August 24, 1923, he was 18-years old. At the time of his arrest on these murders, Haarmann was in possession of Struss' violin case.
8. Paul Bronishchewsk i was a 17-year old victim of Haarmann and was murdered by Haarmann on September 24, 1923. Bronishchewski was offered work by Haarmann when he got off the train in Hanover. Bronishchewski disappeared as he travled home to the City of Brochum after visiting his Uncle in GroB Gartz.
9. Richard Graf was another 17-year old victim of Haarmann that was killed on September 30, 1923. Graf disappeared after he told his friends that a detective from Hanover had offered him a job. Haarmann was a police informant and often portrayed himself as being a Hanover detective.
10. Wilhelm Erdmer was a 16-year old victim of Haarmann that was killed on October 12, 1923. Erdner was the son of a locksmith from the town of Gehreden. While cycling to work, Erdmer disappeared. On October 20, eight days after his murder, Haarman was known to have sold Erdner's bicycle.
11. Hermann Wolf was believed to have been killed by Haarmann on either October 24 or 25, 1923. Wolf was only 15-years old, and his clothes were linked to Haarmann and his acquaintances. Despite, Wolf's clothing being traced back to Haarmann and his friends, Haarman was acquitted of Wolf's murder.
12. Heinz Brinkmann was another 13-year old victim of Haarmann and he was murdered on October 27, 1923. Brinkmann was last seen at Hanover station where he had missed the train home for the evening. Haarmann was known to troll that area for his victims. I am sure that Brinkmann would have lived a long life if he had not missed his train on that fateful night.
13. Adolf Hannappel was a 17-year old victim of Haarmann who was killed on November 11, 1923. Hannappel was an apprentice carpenter from Dusseldorf. At Haarmann's trial, witnesses say that they saw Haarmann approaching Hannapel right before he disappeared.
14. Adolf Hennies was believed to be a 19-year old victim of Haarmann who was killed on December 6, 1923. He was a young man and had traveled to Hanover looking for work. However, Haarmann was acquitted of Hennies' murder at the end of his trial. Out of 27 murders he was charged with, Sonnenfield, Wolf and Hennies were the three murders that Haarmann was not convicted of killing.
15. Ernst Spiecker was a 17-year old victim of Haarman, and he was killed by Haarmann on January 5, 1924. Spiecker disappeared while he went to look for work in Hanover. Hans Grans, lover of Haarmann, was wearing Spiecker's shirt when he was arrested.
16. Heinrich Koch was a 20-year old victim of Haarmann, and he was killed by him on January 15, 1924. Koch was known to be an acquaintance of Fritz Haarmann.
17. Willi Senger was a 19-year old victim of Haarmann, and hewas killed by Haarmann on February 2, 1924. At the time of Haarmann's arrest for the 27 murders, Senger's clothes were found in Haarmann's apartment.
18. Hermann Speichert was a 16-year old victim of Haarmann, and he was killed by him on February 8, 1924. Speichert was an apprentice electrician who worked for Linden-Limmer. Hans Grans was found to be in possession of Speichert's geometry kit after the arrest of Haarmann.
19. Alfred Hogrefe was a 16-year old victim of Haarmann, and he was killed by him on April 8, 1924. Hogrefe was an apprentice mechanic. After Haarmann's and Grans arrest, all of Hogrefe's clothing was traced to either Haarmann or Grans.
20. Hermann Bock was a 22-year old victim of Haarmann, and he was killed on April 15, 1924. Bock was last seen by his friends walking towards Haarmann's apartment in mid-April.
21. Wilhelm Apel was a 16-year old victim who was killed by Haarmann on April 17, 1924. Apel was last seen on his to work. It is believed that Apel was lured from the Hannover-Leinhausen station to Haarmann's apartment.
22. Robert Witzel was 18-year old victim of Haarmann, and he was killed by Haarmann on April 26, 1924. Witzel was last seen while visiting a traveling circus. Witzel's skull was found on May 20, 1924. Haarmann admitted dumping Witzel's remains in the Leine River.
23. Heinrich Martin was 14-years old when he was killed by Haarmann on May 9, 1924. Martin was an apprentice locksmith and disappeared from the Hanover station. Martin's leather marine cap was found in Haarmann's apartment after his arrest.
24. Fritz Wittig was 17-years old when he was killed by Haarmann on May 26, 1924. Wittig was last seen in the company of Haarmann and Grans at a bar. Haarmann insisted that Grans had ordered him to commit both this murder and the murder of Adolph Hannappel.
25. Friedrich Abeling was only 10-years old when he was killed by Haarmann also on May 26, 1924. Abeling was the youngest victim of Haarmann. Abeling was skipping school and was last seen playing. Abeling remains were dumped in the Leine River.
26. Friedrich Koch was 16-years old and was killed on June 5, 1924. Koch vanished on his way to college and was last seen in the company of Haarmann.
27. Erich de Vries was 17-years old and was killed by Haarmann on June 14, 1924. De Vries was an apprentice baker and Haarmann led the police to De Vries remains after his arrest.

5. Hans Sonnenfield was a 19-year old runaway from the town of Limmer was believed to have been killed by Haarman on May 31, 1923. Haarmann was charged with his murder, but he denied this killing. Even though Sonnenfield's coat and tie were found in Haarmann's apartment, and this evidence came out at trial, Haarmann was acquitted of Sonnefield's murder.

Haarmann was known to troll that area for his victims. I am sure that Brinkmann would have lived a long life if he had not missed his train on that fateful night.
13. Adolf Hannappel was a 17-year old victim of Haarmann who was killed on November 11, 1923. Hannappel was an apprentice carpenter from Dusseldorf. At Haarmann's trial, witnesses say that they saw Haarmann approaching Hannapel right before he disappeared.
14. Adolf Hennies was believed to be a 19-year old victim of Haarmann who was killed on December 6, 1923. He was a young man and had traveled to Hanover looking for work. However, Haarmann was acquitted of Hennies' murder at the end of his trial. Out of 27 murders he was charged with, Sonnenfield, Wolf and Hennies were the three murders that Haarmann was not convicted of killing.

19. Alfred Hogrefe was a 16-year old victim of Haarmann, and he was killed by him on April 8, 1924. Hogrefe was an apprentice mechanic. After Haarmann's and Grans arrest, all of Hogrefe's clothing was traced to either Haarmann or Grans.
20. Hermann Bock was a 22-year old victim of Haarmann, and he was killed on April 15, 1924. Bock was last seen by his friends walking towards Haarmann's apartment in mid-April.
21. Wilhelm Apel was a 16-year old victim who was killed by Haarmann on April 17, 1924. Apel was last seen on his to work. It is believed that Apel was lured from the Hannover-Leinhausen station to Haarmann's apartment.

25. Friedrich Abeling was only 10-years old when he was killed by Haarmann also on May 26, 1924. Abeling was the youngest victim of Haarmann. Abeling was skipping school and was last seen playing. Abeling remains were dumped in the Leine River.
26. Friedrich Koch was 16-years old and was killed on June 5, 1924. Koch vanished on his way to college and was last seen in the company of Haarmann.
27. Erich de Vries was 17-years old and was killed by Haarmann on June 14, 1924. De Vries was an apprentice baker and Haarmann led the police to De Vries remains after his arrest.
